Rededication of Camp Kane & 8th Illinois Cavalry Encampment At Camp Kane
(Langum Park—rt. 25, St. Charles , IL)

April 19, 2008 - 12:00p.m. til April 20, 2008 - 12:00 p.m.
The 8th Illinois Cavalry is coming home to honor and celebrate the rededication of their beloved home Camp Kane, 147 years after they mustered into the Civil War in September of 1861. They will be joined by other celebrated units for a two day encampment and muster. The troops will camp over night to show what real life was like for the 8th Illinois Cavalry. We invite you to join us and walk through a realistic Civil War encampment, view the troops drilling on battlefield tactics and drills in preparation for battles like Gettysburg. This is a wonderful event for individuals, the whole family, group outings. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted and appreciated since all proceeds will go towards the fundraising efforts of the Farnsworth Mansion Foundation, whose goal is to rebuild the historic Farnsworth Mansion as a Civil War Museum.
Sponsored by the 8th Illinois Cavalry and the Farnsworth Mansion Foundation
